Zuri is a fun, energetic, and passionate occupational therapist that is dedicated to improving the lives of young and older children. Zuri received her master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where scholarship of practice is taught and highly ingrained into future clinicians. She completed her clinical rotation in outpatient pediatrics and has knowledge in areas such as DIR/Floortime model approach, sensory integration, and self-regulation for children. Zuri has also worked for a pediatric research laboratory during her graduate career at UIC, where she was involved in creating a stakeholder-engaged early intervention assessment. Zuri is also passionate about becoming a certified hand therapist in the future and using these skills to directly support young children in areas such as handwriting. Zuri also brings to the team her bilingual skills as she is a native Spanish-speaker. When Zuri is not directly working with children, she loves to draw, exercise, or spend time with her young niece and nephew!
