About

Shana is a passionate speech and language pathologist who is committed to helping all children develop the skills needed to become successful communicators! She earned a bachelor’s of social work from The University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s of science from Northwestern University.  Before going back for her graduate degree, she worked in the Chicago Public Schools for many years providing early literacy and literacy programming for children in preschool through 8th grade. Throughout her graduate studies, Shana has evaluated and treated children in outpatient clinics and school settings.  Shana has experience working with persistent articulation disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), expressive and receptive language delays and disorders, pragmatic language disorders, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).  She is trained in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing, an evidence-based treatment model for children with CAS, and Multisensory Grammar, an evidence-based program focused on expanding oral and written communication. She is an enthusiastic speech and language therapist who ensures that the needs of her clients and their families are being met through enjoyable, motivating, and individualized treatment. Shana holds a temporary speech-language pathologist license and a Professional Educator License (PEL) in the state of Illinois.
