About

Lauren is an engaging and passionate Outpatient Pediatric Occupational Therapist who has extensive experience working with infants, children, young adults and their families to support progress towards independence within all areas of daily living. She believes in a comprehensive and holistic approach to therapy and emphasizes the importance of serving the entire family unit in order to make impactful changes and gains toward independence. From a therapeutic approach, Lauren values evidence-based approaches to treatment and is a self-driven learner who is always looking for opportunities to expand upon her knowledge and skills. She finds so much joy in utilizing her creative, collaborative, and problem-solving nature to help those she works with participate and thrive in their everyday lives. Lauren has clinical experience working with infants, children and adults with diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, learning disabilities, trauma and many others. During therapy sessions, she may focus on areas of need such as executive function, visual processing, visual motor integration, gross and fine motor skills, activities of daily living and routines, social-emotional processing, social/peer interactions, and sensory integration using DIR/Floortime in order to support performance and participation in everyday activities.
Lauren received her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Washington University in St Louis and her Bachelor of Science in Community Health at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is Early Intervention credentialed through the state of Illinois to provide occupational therapy services to children ages 0-3 years and their families.
In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband and dog where they explore new foods and restaurants, take walks along the lake, and play games with family and friends. Lauren loves to cook and brings that passion into many of her therapy sessions where she helps her clients explore new foods, cook, and learn safety within the kitchen. She also enjoys art and can be found making and creating new things at home whenever she has the chance!
