About

Christie grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and relocated to the Chicagoland area after completing her master’s degree in 2003. Christie is a licensed speech-language pathologist in the state of Illinois, holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and also holds a Professional Educator License (PEL) in the state of Illinois.

Christie has experience working with all ages from birth through 109 years young.

She has extensive experience working with children who have needs ranging from early language delays, fluency (stuttering), apraxia, pragmatics and social language, articulation, AAC, expressive language and receptive language disorders, craniofacial and resonance disorders, and more. Christie believes in incorporating the whole family into the therapeutic experience and uses play, art, and music to make therapy fun to keep everyone motivated and to facilitate the carryover of skills outside of the therapeutic setting.

In her spare time, Christie loves spending time with her two Shiba Inu’s hiking and exploring nature, listening to music and attending live music events, and learning to cook and bake.
