About

Carrie is a licensed speech-language pathologist in the state of Illinois and a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Western Michigan University. She is also PROMPT Level One certified. Carrie has 7 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist and has worked with the pediatric population in public school, therapeutic school, and private speech settings. Carrie specializes in reading and literacy disorders. She previously worked at Ravinia Reading and has great experience using evidence-based reading programs. Carrie also has an abundance of experience in speech sound disorders, expressive and receptive language delays, social-communication issues, fluency disorders, and literacy development. Carrie believes in keeping children motivated by making learning fun and is known to incorporate songs, games, and crafts into her therapy sessions to help children meet their individual speech and language goals. Outside of work, Carrie enjoys going for walks around her neighborhood, reading a good book, making weekend excursions to Michigan, and spending time with her family and friends.
