About

Alexa is a licensed speech-language pathologist who is passionate about improving communication abilities in children of all ages and backgrounds as well as adults. Alexa has extensive experience treating developmental disorders, Autism, receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation/phonological impairments, childhood apraxia of speech, pragmatic language disorders, fluency disorders, and improving non-verbal communication through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. Alexa has additional experience working with adults with various neurological impairments and neurodegenerative diseases, treating impairments in cognition, aphasia, apraxia, dysphagia, and voice. When Alexa is not working, she enjoys exercising, volunteering at a local animal shelter, and traveling to national parks around the country.

Alexa received her Bachelor’s degree in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience with a minor in Linguistics from the University of Michigan, and her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Learning from Northwestern University. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
