Coordination & Motor Planning

Occupational Therapists at Crossroads are trained to assess your child’s praxis skills. There are many steps in praxis which may impact coordination and your child’s ability to participate in activities at home and school. Our OT’s are trained to help your child with ideation (coming up with ideas), plan/sequence/execute the steps, and adaption (problem solving while carrying out their ideas). Children with coordination/motor planning/praxis challenges may have trouble completing tasks, may be slow to learning new motor skills, lack coordination, delayed fine and gross motor skills, unable to follow multi-step directions, appear stiff/awkward/clumsy, avoid physical activities, may frequently trip/fall/bump into things, may have difficulty performing activities safely.
